Thunderstorm

I complain that I don't get any rain. Now a thunderstorm just went over and I get to complain again. Sometimes people don't realize that when rain comes that hard it dosen't soak in the ground and do any good. It just all runs off. That's exactly what happened in this case. Oh well it's moisture and more than I have had all year so no complaining. I about drove My Darling Wife crazy when the thunderstorm was in progress worrying about hail. The last thing I would need is hail to destroy what little grass there is.
n<!–more–>
nOther news, bought 200 ton more of hay. Had to pay a little more for it. $100/ton laid in. I just decided that I had to get more since I could see I was going to get none and with the lack of good rain I was probable going to have to start feeding earlier in the fall and longer in the spring than normal so a little more hay was warrented. I called the insurance company about the loss of the hay crop. They said with the massive devestation of crops in the area they were going to be sending in a special disaster team in a couple of weeks to start adjusting the claims. The money will help pay for the hay but will definitly not cover it all. Personally I would rather put up a hay crop than collect on insurance. Much more satisfying.
n
nPersons who insist to themselves that under one set of conditions only can they lead interesting and satisfying lives lay themselves open to bitter disappointments and frustrations.
