Freedom

This is just abhorrent.
n
n
One in three U.S. high school students say the press ought to be more restricted, and even more say the government should approve newspaper stories before readers see them, according to a survey being released today.
n
n The survey of 112,003 students finds that 36% believe newspapers should get "government approval" of stories before publishing; 51% say they should be able to publish freely; 13% have no opinion.

n
nI find it strangely suspicious that 33% of students in government schools think the press should be restricted. The government must be doing a damn good job of brain washing, or keeping them ignorant which amounts to the same thing, the students that it is so busy teaching. The amount of ignorance shown here is so profoundly disturbing that it is beyond description.
n
nWhat are these children learning in school from their teachers? Sex, drugs and rock and roll with the teachers showing them how?
n
nIgnorance is learned; innocence is forgotten. Jose Bergamin
n
nUPDATE: When I wrote this last night I realized I had gotten a little out of control and set it aside til morning. The teachers are not totally at fault here. They are doing the best they can when dealing with parents that just don't care about education. For the most part parents motivate their kids and if they don't care the children don't. It really upsets me when people don't understand the basic freedoms we have in this country that so many people have served and died for that I get a little over the edge. Sorry.
