Double Meaning
I have an external hard drive sitting on my computer desk that I use for picture backups. It gets very warm and one of the cats has discovered it and loves to lay on it to keep warm. This morning I told My Darling Wife, "There's a cat laying on my hard drive."
She gets this really funny smirk on her face and says, "Does it feel good for you?"
Some people's children just have a dirty mind.
If I asked for a cup of coffee, someone would search for the double meaning. Mae West

Catching Up
It seems like some people are just discovering my picture of Biscuit with a snake I posted about a 1 1/2 years ago. In honor of that I thought I would post a picture of our other indoor/outdoor cat.

Mittens trotting along to keep up with me. For an outside cat he is very social. Taken 9/18/2006.

Biscuit

He came through the surgery fine but was never able to recover. He was in at the vets and wasn't doing well and the vet didn't think he was going to make it so we put him to sleep.
Biscuit was about 15 years old and had a good run. He loved chasing and catching mice, voles, pocket gophers and even a couple of months ago a rabbit. He was a mighty hunter and will be missed.

Useless or Not
Cat saves baby's life
So maybe cats are worth more than a lap/bed warmer. You could have fooled me, the menagerie around here is pretty useless.
I never have understood why somebody would leave a baby like theis. I am glad it's all right though, thanks to of all things a cat.

A cat saved the life of a newborn baby abandoned on the doorstep of a Cologne house in the middle of the night by meowing loudly until someone woke up, a police spokesman said Saturday.
"The cat is a hero," Cologne police spokesman Uwe Beier said. "Its loud meowing got the attention of the homeowner and saved the baby from suffering life-threatening hypothermia. The homeowner opened door to see why the cat was making so much noise and discovered the newborn."

Terrorist Cat
House arrest for attack cat
In a way this whole story is funny but a cat can be awful mean and vicious if it wants to. Before we got Lucky My Darling Wife would always joke she was protected by he attack cats. If somebody would come to the door and I wasn't home at least one, if not two of the cats in the house would accompany her to the door and hiss and growl at the person there. The one cat is over 30 pounds and lets out a war cry that will flat scare you when he is upset and more than one person coming to our house was scared of him.
My point is I don't blame these people for being scared of the cat, they can be nasty. I hope they know it makes them sound like wimps too.

A ferocious feline terrorized a quiet Fairfield neighborhood, to the point that residents are seeking help from the law to stop the so-called "Terrorist of Sunset Circle."
Lewis, a 5-year-old, black-and-white longhaired cat, attacked at least a half-dozen people on the cul-de-sac and even took on the local Avon lady, neighbors say.
"He looks like Felix the Cat and has six toes on each foot each with a long claw," Sunset Circle resident Janet Kettman said. "They are formidable weapons."

Talk About Lucky
I was asked recently about how Lucky was doing. In short he is doing great. Happy as hell to have a family that takes care of him and loves him. The only fly in the ointment is his tendency to dig holes in the yard. We are making progress on that front slow but sure.

We have numerous cats around the place and he flat just doesn't know what to do with them. Since he is not allowed to be mean to them he is learning to cope. They do torture him mercilessly though. It's kind of funny when you watch them.
He's a truly Lucky Puppy, that's for sure.

Critters
Hey, I've noticed that it has been a while since I posted any pictures of the critters around here so I guess it's time for some critter pictures.

A couple of My Darling Wife's chickens out enjoying the sunshine yesterday. We are getting all kinds of eggs now.

Mittens enjoying the sunshine while watching me work.

Over where the cows are at there is not much snow or ice left but here around the houses the ice is still giving us problems. Nylon doesn't seem to mind it to much, He's real careful around it.

"Thar be cows!" As you can see there is not much snow left and the cows are really enjoying it. We just finised putting thier hay out and they are busy eating.
