Accountability

We wouldn't want some pesky little thing like accountability to plague our state government now would we? Naw, set standards and report how we've done. The <acronym title="Gov. Brian Schweitzer">The Second Coming wouldn't want anything like that. Why the agency in question might find out how good of job it's not doing. That wouldn't look good on our Governors resume now would it? Can't have that! Have to keep the people of Montana in the dark about how their tax money is spent.
n
nThe trouble with lying and deceiving is that their efficiency depends entirely upon a clear notion of the truth that the liar and deceiver wishes to hide. In this sense, truth, even if it does not prevail in public, possesses an ineradicable primacy over all falsehoods. Hannah Arendt
