It is a corn planter......i remember whent my father still used one of this type...

Here I clicked on the comment link fully expecting to be able to demonstrate my super human know it all talents, but I've been beaten, oh the shame.
Just for the record though, I was gonna say I thought it was a seed drill of some sort.

I think it's an old drill of some kind; not sure if it's for corn or perhaps beans...

I wouldn't have been able to identify it, but I enjoyed the photo. It's coincidental that I was thinking just yesterday about a few pieces of old machinery at the ranch where I grew up in the 50's & 60's. They were lined up by a fence south of our buildings. There were a couple of hay rakes and I don't know what else. The rakes had seats on them which indicates that they were horse-drawn. They are still sitting there, I'm sure, unless someone has sold them as yard art.
