It has been pointed out to me by some of my Canadian readers, with proof, that some members of R-calf own cattle in Canada. I see the story is in the Gazette now also. I present this here because the Canadian readers feel this fact damages R-calf's credibility. I'm not sure how since it is only a couple of members but I present it for fairness.
I will state for fact that I have never owned or looked at owning any Canadian cattle in any way, shape, or form. How I personally am "a hypocrite" and "playing both sides of the border" is beyond me. That's the contention of Canadians though. I didn't know it was my job as a member of R-Calf to police every single members actions. Damn, that would sure keep me busy.
The confusion is not my invention. We cannot listen to a conversation for five minutes without being aware of the confusion. It is all around us and our only chance now is to let it in. The only chance of renovation is to open our eyes and see the mess. It is not a mess you can make sense of. Samuel Beckett

I finally got to the paper last night and read about the R-Calf people who have purchased Canadian cattle. Frankly, I don't get it. How does owning the cattle in Canada benefit them? Everyone has a right to donate money to any legal cause that they want to. I get that. R-Calf wanted the border to stay closed. I get that. It must be legal to own cattle on both sides of the border. I get that. So what is it I am missing?
