A telephone operator named Vicky, who declined to give her last name, says the scam started about 8 a.m. Tuesday morning and the calls were coming in from members and nonmembers alike.
When asked how anyone could scam money from an e-mail that asks you to not respond, Vicky says she doesn't know. However, she says sometimes some personal information can be tracked by criminals if the user opens the e-mail.
She says this scam looks more threatening.
"Somebody is trying to start something with Pay Pal and start a virus," she says.
Later in my readings I came across the information that this is a new type of worm that only affects people using Internet Explorer.
My personal rant. Internet Explorer is a bug filled security risk that should be avoided at all costs. If you are still using this consider switching to another, safer browser. I prefer Firefox which just two days ago come out with version 1.0, its first production relase. Since Firefox is free it makes a real good choice for a browser. If you haven't switched yet I recommend it.

with obvious viruses as I hardly open anything in the slightest form of weird. But
I have been on the telephone for several days now with techs with D-Link in the attempt to install a wireless
card in my laptop, and it won't even with the Level 3 tech. Something such as spyware,
adware, etc. is blocking the installation. Guess that is what happens when you inherit
a laptop previously used exclusively by your teenagers. It is irritating there is so much
negative going on with the internet when it is such a valuable tool.
