Weight

1,000 lb. man. I can't even imagine. Don't get me wrong, I am heavier than I should be by over 100 pounds but I can't imagine weighing 1000 pounds.

All I could think about looking at his picture was that poor, poor man. I hope they can help him.

I can't imagine being seriously overweight. Not only does it look danged uncomfortable but I can't imagine what these folks' grocery bills must be! I'll sure have my fingers crossed for this gentleman.

I also hope they are able to help him...that picture (and story) is really sad and it also brought back some painful memories of a period in my life when I was overweight (late teen years to early 20s). I went from one extreme to the other; being overweight to hardly weighing anything at all...155-160lbs to 75-80lbs. But the kicker is, I'm only 5'1". I remember my mom used to have to make my clothes because nothing in the stores would fit for how short I am and the size that I was. And, what's really strange is that I never talk about this to anyone who is a part of my life now. Although it's been approximately 10-15 years ago, I still don't want anyone to know.
My heart goes out to this guy. And, thank God he is now surrounded by people who care about him.

I heard about this when he first went to Sioux Falls. I thought about the movie "What's eating Gilbert Grape". The woman who starred as the mother in that recently went into serious inpatient therapy to lose weight. I've struggled with it all my life though nothing approaching this fellow's problems. It sounds like he's in good spirits which is so, so important.
