Suicide by fire a way out for many Afghan women
I don't know what to say about this. What really bothers me though is Feminists in the US are always talking about how persucuted women are in the US. I feel they need to turn there attention to womens rights throught the world, like in Afghanistan, and help the women in these places. Sucide as the only option to women is a sad commentary on the rights women have in such poor countries and needs to be worked on somehow. I just wish I knew how.

Women in America still have challenges but when it comes to how women in the world are treated-- America is as good as it gets. I think helping women around the world, especially Islamic women, seems nearly impossible. It's parallel with helping stop AIDS in Africa/India where they refuse to abstain or use condoms even when they are provided. You can only help those who are willing to help themselves.

p.s. By the way, there are plenty of American women who are living in poverty and being abused and beaten on a regular basis. Charity begins at home.
