He was loved by many
But wasn't sure how to show love back
Was crazy about work
And went crazy if not working
Could show up younger cowboys
When young cowboys were showing off
Loved to help people if they needed it
Taught his kids and Grandkids to work
They showed him how to love
Always got tons of fireworks for the kids
We all know he loved them too
Told tons of stories about back in the day
But now he's gone away
I never wanted to believe it
Sitting here thinking and grieving
He maybe gone
But never forgotten
At least he went happy and with his boots on
We'll miss you and never forget you
This was written by my oldest daughter for her Grandpa. She won't let me use it in the service but I thought it was safe to post it here.

I know it's hard for all of you, and condolences. It's easy for me to say, and I don't know the particulars, but going out with boots on, doing what you love, beats any alternative I can think of.
