The wild roses are in full bloom now. They have been for a few days but I have been too busy to get a picture. I made the time and got one yesterday. Everything seems more fragrant this year. More than usual. Wish I could link the smell, they are very sweet this year. Taken 6/5/2006.
Ssm, your pictures are sure creating some strong, nostalgic feelings for this old boy who grew up in the short grass country. I still have your wild plum blossoms as my computer screen background. Also the other day one of your postings seemed to show some sweet clover with a sprinkling of sweet sage. The aroma of this combination when you were sitting close to the cutter bar on the old horse- drawn mower was another smell that I'll never forget. I note that all your pictures seem to be copyrited and with a dire warning about reproduction. Are you gonna sue me?
I just have the copyright there for my protection. I have no problem with people using them on their desktop. I just want protection from commercial use.
Lovely photo - ours are blooming, too. They tell me here that the river is at its peak when the wild roses are blooming. What if you're not near a river?
Twas the scent of blossoms that made me think.
What most important date did I blink?
The long lost look of that momma cow told me why,
Find a florist,do or die.
Thirty miles from town, no florist to be found. Mother nature, your way I'm bound.
wild roses, buttercups all, a little paint brush, I need you all.
Honey, for you, look what I found,
Tonight dinners on me we have reservations in town.
I'm skating on ice and throwing the dice.
Every time I see an IGA, I'm reminded I need a PDA so that that when the blossoms bloom, I am not doomed.
