Then Sunday rolled in. Cold, light snow, low clouds. Kind of a miserable day. I won't say the moisture hurt but it wasn't a lot of fun.
Just the way it goes I guess.
Earth teach me to forget myself as melted snow forgets its life. Earth teach me resignation as the leaves which die in the fall. Earth teach me courage as the tree which stands all alone. Earth teach me regeneration as the seed which rises in the spring. William Alexander

I saw a program on PBS this morning about people who settled in Montana. One family lived at Sarpy Creek -- it was quite tragic. They were the Rumseys, or Ramseys?, had 14 children, 2 died. The man was sent to prison because he said he wouldn't support some political thing -- I missed part of it so I'm not sure what. Was in prison for 4 years.
In the meantime, the wife lost the farm, the kids were put up for adoption. One of them, now in his 70's, talked about how his life had been derailed by the loss of family.
If you get a chance to see it, it was quite interesting.
