I couldn't believe this story.
Sen. Hillary Clinton chided President Bush for not thanking her husband for handing the current administration such a strong military.
Maybe my memory is a little faulty on this issue but didn't President Clinton preside over the gutting of our military during his administration? I remember stories about how the cuts led to low morale and people quitting the military instead of watching it's decline. My present hired man got out of the military because of President Clinton and his policies. What kind of delusions is Hillary living under?
Then later in her speech the article says she indicates women were better off under Saddam Hussein than now. That is really stretching things a long way. I know there are some concerns about Iraq becoming a theocratic state and denying women any rights but we need to continue working on this to keep it from happening. I think Hillary lives in her own little world and should maybe come out and join the rest of us in the real world.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. Albert Einstein

I don't know about became more efficient. I remember the complaints during the Clinton administration that the military was streched too far and routine traning was not happening due to the over commitnents and so the military was becoming less effecient and morale was deteriorating. The current administration has the same problems with there deployments of the military and routine training being ignored. So the question for both administrations is did the cuts in personel cause the problems or did the different Presidents overuse of the military cause the problem? I think it is a little bit of both.
