The damn bad thing is it's supposed to stay this way for a week now. What snow we have will melt off and soak into the ground, which is good, but will leave the ground bare to freeze up with the eventual cold weather to come and not accept any later moisture very well, which is bad. I really feel bad for the wheat farmers whose fields are going to bare off and lose the protective cover of snow over their wheat.
Not much we can do about the situation though. Curse it and accept what is happening. We can't control the weather. Damn it. The only good thing I can see in the whole thing is the chickens are finally leaving the coop.
