The yearlings fighting the wind and the snow coming to feed.
The calves waiting for their cake. They walked in almost 1 mile against the wind for feed. That explains all the snow on their heads.
The cows eating their cake. This picture really shows the snow moving across the picture.
It wasn't too bad out when My Darling Wife took the oldest to the bus. Just after though it got really bad. We finally decided the best thing to do would be for her to move into town overnight so the oldest could get to school today and the boy could make his speech therapy today. By the time she got to town the school was sending our bus home at lunch since the road was so bad. She got word that our oldest was to stay in school and she would pick her up later.
They never send the bus home early so they must have felt the road was going to get really bad. My darling wife said it wasn't to bad but I'm sure glad she is in town. They got some wind there but not snow like we did. We have drifts around here that are nasty. We must have had 3-4 inches of snow is all but the winds really blew it in to big drifts. She would never get out this morning so it was a good decision. We will spend the day feeding and plowing out the roads to the cows and the highway and hopefully get things back to normal, as normal as they seem to get this winter.
One last thought.
I HATE THE WIND!!!!! It meant a lonely night and a lot of work today.
They danced the dance of the outcasts for the outcasts who watched them, amid the louring trees, with a blizzard coming on. Angela Carter

Hope it quieted down for you, I like wild weather but only because I usually dont have to work in it. Or get the kids to school in it.

of cake.
It's just a compressed grain product.
We got dug out today finally. I'm tired.
