Perhaps they (Republicans) believe school funding and coal-to-liquid-fuels are far more complex to discuss with Montanans than jeans and Jag.
I don't think the Republicans think school funding and coal-to-liquid-fuels are far to complex to discuss with Montanans, I think the Republican Leadership's pea sized brains can't handle such complex thoughts as these. I know the voters can handle such complex thoughts but the Republican Leadership needs to grow a brain, but I don't think that's possible.
