Sabine Bieber broke into sobs late Tuesday after hearing the verdicts against her in one of the most closely watched murder cases in recent Yellowstone County history.
While the verdicts were read at 8:47 p.m., the Laurel day care operator accused of using a common cold and allergy medicine to sedate children sat motionless. She was found guilty of negligent homicide for the death of a 1-year-old boy. She also was convicted on two counts of felony criminal endangerment.
The jury acquitted the 36-year-old woman on one count of criminal endangerment and one count of tampering with evidence. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
I think the right thing was done here. It doesn't surprise me that the jury acquitted on a couple of the counts, I would have too. The important thing is she is guilty of the boys death. The article says she can get up to 40 years. I think they should hang her but that is not the way the system works.
