My Darling Wife comes from Harlowton and we managed to get a few pictures for a change on our visit there a few days ago.
My Darlings Wife's father worked for the railroad there until the Milwaukee Railroad went out of business. The Milwaukee built Harlowton and the town has struggled since it left.

Here is a Harlowton depot as it looks today.

Here is the sign in front of the depot. If memory serves me right at Harlowton the electric portion of the rail road started and run into Washington. It was the only major line in the US to use electric engines.

This is one of those engines. My Darling Wife always talks about them driving the engine to its present location down main street, they laid temporary track down the street, of Harlowton. It must have been a sight.

This switch engine is displayed down by the depot. It looks like someone has shot the windows out. Some people have no respect for history.

Now this would plow some snow.

The community recently come together and bought
Cream of the West". My Darling Wife tells me that it is now made here in Harlowton.

One last picture from the house where My Darling Wife grew up which looks down on Chief Joesph park and the Harlowton Rodeo Grounds.
Hopefully you enjoyed the pictures, I did.
The camera is my tool. Through it I give a reason to everything around me. Andre Kertesz
My family owned the old Gilman Hotel now located in Augusta. The railroad by-passed Gilman, and it became a ghost town. The railroad had that kind of outcome.
