I finally stood up the last of the first cutting hay. This stack is all the hay on the Sarpy side. Eighteen thousand little square bales totaling about 720 tons of hay. These fields went 2.5 tons/acre which for dryland alfalfa is fantastic.
The fields on the Tullock side only yeilded about 330 tons of hay and went 1.6 tons/acre. With the 260 tons of Barley hay we should have enough hay for the winter, hell we almost have enough hay for 2 winters. Quite a change from last year. I'm glad to have all the hay, its like money in the bank.
As for the cattle they are belly deep in grass and enjoying it.
