Suicides in Indian youths stir alarm
So, what is the solution to this problem?
In northern tier states - Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Alaska - American Indian youth suicide rates, for those 19 and younger, are three to eight times as high as the rates of all other racial groups in the country.
The numbers prompted Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., to call a Senate hearing June 15.
Yes, your right, the magical solution is to call a Senate hearing. That fixes everything, doesn't it?
Whoever invented the meeting must have had Hollywood in mind. I think they should consider giving Oscars for meetings: Best Meeting of the Year, Best Supporting Meeting, Best Meeting Based on Material from Another Meeting. William Goldman

Although Senate hearings do little to solve anything at least give Sen. Dorgan props for at least acknowledging there is a problem. If there is enough publicity about this tragedy in Indian country maybe, just maybe the IHS will receive the funding and training to be able to stop this.
I can hope can't I?
