Yesterday when I was out checking water I saw a sight that I will never forget. We came over a hill and saw an antelope running along after her fawn. I didn't think much of it till I really started studying the fawn. What I took at a glance for a fawn turned out to be a coyote and this antelope was chasing it away. I watched for a minute or so until they were out of sight but no matter what the coyote tried to do to get away the antelope would counter and continue to chase the coyote.
I never knew that an antelope would chase a coyote off like that. It was funny.
From troublous sights and sounds set free;
In such a twilight hour of breath,
Shall one retrace his life or see,
Through shadows, the true face of death?

Good for her! Darned coyotes anyway. One got the ewe that our oldest grandson showed at state fair last year and won junior breeding sheep showmanship with. The sheep were not more than a few feet from an occupied house.
